LeMoyne Community Center to Host 2023 Candidates Forum on October 11th
Washington County’s NAACP and League of Women Voters will host a Meet the Candidates Forum on Wednesday, October 11, 2023. The non-partisan event will be held at LeMoyne Community Center beginning at 7:00 pm at 200 N. Forrest Avenue in Washington. Doors will open at 6:30 pm.
Moderated by former Washington County Commissioner Bracken Burns, the event will provide the opportunity for the public to hear directly from candidates running for elected office in November. Voter registration assistance, and answers about voting procedures and deadlines, early voting, how to vote by mail, absentee voting, and more, will be available.
This event will provide a unique unbiased platform for raising candidates’ voices and voters’ questions during a pivotal election year with important local, county and statewide positions on the ballot. Every candidate running for countywide office, Washington City Mayor and Council, and Washington School District Board of Directors has been invited to participate. The Meet the Candidates Forum will be wheelchair-accessible, free, and open to the public.
